Using Your Home Automation System to Make Your December Merry & Bright
By Crystal Watts | Posted December 14, 2013Thanks to our newest issue of Home Smart Home, we shared some suggestions on how to make both your Thanksgiving and Halloween a bit more fun and entertaining with your Control4 home automation system. And to wrap it all up (pun intended), we are closing with our Christmas holiday automation suggestions. We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season.
- If you're a parent, Christmas morning can be particularly exhausting - especially if you've been up all night wrapping toys. To prevent early "starts," create a wakeup scene complete with festive lighting, holiday music and even an announcement that displays on every touch screen in the house - a clear sign that tells your kids it's truly time to rise.
- Set the LEDs on your Control4 switches, dimmers, and keypads to match the holiday season. Red and green for Christmas and Kwanzaa, blue and white for Hanukkah, or nothing at all for Festivus.
- Add music and lighting scenes to make holiday life easier or more festive. For example, create a lighting scene that automatically turns on the tree lights on or off at a certain time. Or designate certain audio zones at home to fill with holiday music at a specified time every evening.
