An Enjoyable Doctor's Visit?
By Crystal Watts | Posted January 16, 2013Ahhhh, the dreaded doctor's visit. I had the pleasure of a visit last week and it was, well, just as I expected it to be... Long, boring and semi-uncomfortable (due to a last-minute decision for a flu shot). Currently, I'm in the "market" for a new doctor -- my practitioner's office is cold and uninviting, and the long wait times are becoming unbearable. The time before last, I sat in the waiting room for almost 2 hours. There isn't a television and no magazines of substance. Just your run-of-the-mill People magazine from last September and a few pamphlets on various procedures that don't pertain to me.
The older I get, the more I spend in doctor's offices (for myself, for my kid, for my husband)... we all know it's a part of life. Going to the doctor is not an exciting experience, but it sure is nice when you know you are going somewhere you feel comfortable. Somewhere you can relax. Somewhere you don't necessarily mind spending an hour-or-so. For instance, the Dermatology & Vein Specialists of the Carolinas is not somewhere I'd mind spending some time. This place is all about patient comfort. From the waiting room to the exam rooms, it is outfitted to keep patients comfortable and informed. Too bad it's not quite feasible for me to travel 2,000 miles for my Dermatology appointments.
